Karimganj: In an another incident of rape a 17-year-old autistic minor girl was raped by a 43-year-old man in Karimganj on Saturday evening.
The accused a resident of Badarpur was arrested by the Badarpur Police Station after the victim’s family filed an FIR.
As per the police the accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012 and some other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Badarpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Dipak Saikia informed, “We have sent the victim for the test and after it we can say something accused. The family members are continuously alleging that she was raped.”
Demanding strict punishment for the accused one of the victim’s family member said, “Our girl is 17 year-old but her brain is still like 5 year old child as she is autistic. The man who raped our daughter is known to our family and often visit our home, we never thought that he can try to force himself on our little girl one day. We want strict punishment against him.”
