Later that day, the chief judicial magistrate's court prolonged Dr. Waliul Islam's police custody for another 5 days.

Digital Desk: On Thursday, another househelp of the accused doctor pair, Dr. Waliul Islam and Dr. Sangeeta Datta, in the Guwahati child abuse case was detained.

According to sources, the housemaid was detained after her tormenting of minor victims was documented on CCTV footage collected by police from the doctor's premises.

Earlier in the day, a journalist named Abhijit Bose was detained for his role in the case. He was the brother of the principal accused doctor, Sangeeta Datta's personal assistant. According to sources, Abhijit offered security to his elder sister over the phone. He was arrested under Section 120 (B) for giving the accused with protection.

Later that day, the chief judicial magistrate's court prolonged Dr. Waliul Islam's police custody for another 5 days.

After his five-day police detention, the city police brought accused Islam before the court.

The Guwahati police had filed an application to extend Waliul Islam's police custody for five days.
