Digital Desk: Anushka Sharma lauded her husband Virat Kohli for his outstanding effort in the World Cup 2023 semi-final against New Zealand. She turned to Instagram to write a touching message for him, describing him as "God's child."

During the World Cup semi-final versus New Zealand at the Wankede stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, Virat Kohli became the first batter in the game's history to reach 50 ODI hundreds, surpassing his idol Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli moved from 98 to 100 when he worked Kiwis bowler Lockie Ferguson to square leg for a double. Furthermore, Rohit Sharma's India advanced to the ICC World Cup 2023 finals with a 70-run victory over Kane Williamson's New Zealand.

Anushka Sharma captioned a photo of Kohli on her Instagram story, "God is the best script writer! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly God's child."

India finished second in 2003 and will find out who their championship contender is on Thursday when Australia plays South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
