Digital Desk: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) on Wednesday launched a helpline number for people to address any problem related to electricity bills. The number has been issued in an effort to address the state's problem of rising monthly electricity bills.

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) on Wednesday made customer complaint helplines available in an effort to address the state's problem of rising monthly electricity rates.

Customers can contact the APDCL by calling the number 1912 to file concerns, according to the organisation.



Additionally, they can use WhatsApp to voice their complaints about increased monthly bills by dialling 7575999666.

The power provider guaranteed prompt resolution of any concerns sent via the helpline lines. They stated that after looking into the allegations, the bill would be changed.

It is to be noted that Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, stated on Tuesday that customers who have complaints about their monthly electricity bills must submit a formal application outlining their problems.

Customers must take their complaints to their local APDCL offices, according to CM Sarma.

The CM continued by saying that after a request is made, representatives from the electricity department will go to their residences and check their metre boxes.

He added that monthly payments would be adjusted with the bill for the next month if any problems were discovered with their particular metre boxes.
