  • Tense situation at the Borhat tea garden in Charaideo

Digital Desk: A tense situation unfolded early this morning at the Borhat tea garden in Charaideo district, sparking widespread unrest among the workers.  


The turmoil began when a large group of thieves, attempting to steal fresh tea leaves, launched a violent attack on about ten security guards stationed at the garden.

The incident triggered intense protests from the workers.


The confrontation occurred in area number 16 of the garden, where the security guards tried to intervene and stop the theft.


However, they were overpowered by a group of approximately 80-90 thieves armed with sharp weapons.


Among the injured were Michel Kerkerta, Hemanta Lohar, and Bito Lohar, who  sustained serious injuries during the attack.


Additionally, Radheshyam Tanti, Shankar Khoira, Amir Teli, and Lobentos Kerkerta were also hurt.


The three critically injured individuals were rushed to Chabua Tata Memorial Hospital later that night for advanced medical treatment.
