Digital Desk: A major breakthrough has been achieved by Assam  police after a vehicle was intercepted at Khanapara naka point near the CP Office in Guwahati.


The vehicle, bearing registration number AS-01 HC-3288, was stopped and thoroughly checked by police personnel. During the search, 18 mobile phone handsets were recovered from the trunk of the vehicle.


Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the recovered mobile phones had been stolen from various locations. The accused, identified as Sanjib Singh of Hengrabari, was reportedly on his way to the Assam–Bangladesh border to hand over the devices to his associates.


Further investigation uncovered that the accused had been involved in transporting stolen mobile phones to the India–Bangladesh border via Meghalaya for the past several months.

Police have initiated legal action in connection with the case, and further investigation is underway.
