Digital Desk: Assam Rifles and Dima Hasao police arrested two active Dimasa National Liberation Tigers cadres, the officials said on Thursday.
"Haflong Battalion of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) apprehended two active cadres of DNLT with Dima Hasao police," the official statement reads.
They also seized two weapons along with ammunition from their possession.
"Two weapons were also recovered along with ammunition. The apprehended cadres and recoveries were handed over to police station Maibong, Dima Hasao," it added.
Meanwhile, Special Director General of Assam Police GP Singh tweeted on Wednesday, "Militant organization DNLT floated on Sept 13th in Dima Hasao/Karbi Anglong districts has been neutralised by @assampolice with arrest of all seven leaders/caderes and recovery of arms and explosives. Well done @karbianglongpol & @DimahasaoPolice."
The DNLT is an insurgent group that operates in the Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong regions.
