Digital Desk: Assam along with several other northeastern states are predicted to see widespread light to moderate rainfall activity with thunderstorms and lightning over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Nonetheless, a continuous western disturbance and an induced cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and its surroundings in lower tropospheric levels are expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region on Saturday before weakening on Sunday.

Northeastern India, on the other hand, may witness increased weather activity beginning Sunday. Another western disturbance will begin next week, affecting the Western Himalayan Region beginning Thursday.

However, isolated to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall activity with thunderstorms and lightning is expected to continue over Northeast India from March 25-29 under the influence of the aforementioned systems.

Isolated heavy rain may fall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on March 27-29, as reported by IMD.

Light/moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activity are also expected across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 25-26, and over Jharkhand, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha on March 26-27.
