Digital Desk: Following similar instances in Kharghuli and Rajgarh, another water pipe burst in Guwahati's Silpukhuri neighbourhood, causing panic.

According to sources, the catastrophe occurred around 6 a.m. on Sunday, inundating the entire region with spilled water.

Residents were irritated because, despite being notified, the water board officials did not respond promptly.

The incident illustrates the concerns about the city's decaying infrastructure and the urgent need to solve the recurring issue of water pipes bursting in various locations of the city.

It is anticipated that actions will be taken to address the issue and limit any disruption to the affected residents.

A water pipe burst earlier on June 23 in the city's Borbari neighbourhood.

Even though the rupture wasn't fatal, its repetition highlights how poorly the government has performed in its efforts to prevent similar accidents.

A Guwahati Jal Board water pipeline that had just been built had previously ruptured at Rajgarh Road near Commerce College Link Road.  No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident, however, property worth thousands of rupees was damaged.
