Guwahati: Two schools in Guwahati, Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya (Noonmati) and NPS School (Betkuchi) have been closed following the detection of covid cases in the campus.

Following the detection of covid cases, the administration in its statement stated that, "In view of detection of Covid-19 positive students at NPS International and Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya under Kamrup Metropolitan District, in the interest of the maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of Covid-19 virus amongst the teaching staff and students, the school authority is directed to close the school for the next 7 days.”
