Assam: Bajali now Assam’s 34th district

Bajali/Guwahati: It’s official! Lower Assam’s Bajali has become a full fledged district on Tuesday and the 34th as Assam Governor gave its assent for the formation of the new administrative district for administrative expediency.

Last year a proposal to convert Bajali into a full-fledged district was approved by the state cabinet. The headquarters for the new district is being designated at Madan Rauta Nagar of Pathsala. An official notification has been released informing the whole area of the existing Bajali civil subdivision of Barpeta district as the new district.

10 officials have been appointed for the new district along with further 85 posts-old created in Bajali to open the way for setting up of a new administration.
