Digital Desk: A Journalist from Naharkatia in Dibrugarh district has reportedly joined the proscribed Militant group United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) (ULFA-I).

Bidyut Mahanta identified as the journalist for Dainik Asam newspaper, expressed his desire to join the banned militant movement in a lengthy Facebook post in Assamese. 

Following the journalist's joining of the ULFA-I, there has been major chaos in the neighbourhood.
