Gossaigaon: Assam Police seized a huge amount of Cannabis (ganja) from Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar on Monday.
Reportedly, a truck bearing the registration number- As01AC/6911 was intercepted by the Assam police near the Srirampur gate under Gossaigaon sub-division and seized Cannabis weigh around 500 kg from the truck.
As per police report, there were a total of 50 packets of cannabis in the truck.
Kokrajhar SP Thube Pratik Vijay Kumar said, “We had seized ganja weight 500 kg. The market value of the seized ganja is approximately Rs 1 crore.”
“The quality of the ganja was high.” added SP.
Moreover, the SP asserted that the truck was heading towards Bihar from Tripura.
The police team succeed to arrest the handyman however, the driver managed to escape from the spot said the SP.
This is one another success of the Assam government’s crusade against illegal drugs smuggling in the state.
