Guwahati: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, women of different organizations tied Rakhi to the Assam Chief Minister on Sunday.

CM Sarma took to Twitter and wrote, “Deeply moved by the warm gesture of my beloved sisters belonging to different organizations, who tied Rakhi to me. On the auspicious occasion of #RakshaBandhan, which celebrates the eternal bond between brothers and sisters, I extended my heartfelt greetings to everyone.”

Raksha Bandhan is an annual festival that is celebrated throughout the nation to mark the special bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a red thread called ‘Rakhi’ around the wrists of their brothers, promising to take care of their sisters for a lifetime.
