Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially inaugurated the Amingaon Cricket ground on Tuesday. The inauguration of the ground will provide a platform for the upcoming generation to excel in sports.

Assam Cricket Association organized the inaugural function in Amingaon, Guwahati. Assam CM Sarma, including Sports Minister Bimal Borah

and Minister of Irrigation of Assam Ashok Singhal were also present on the occasion.

As per sources, BCCI will be the first one to organize a match on the ground. The ground will be one of the venues for the forthcoming BCCI U-25 Men's State 'A' One Day Cricket.

The new stadium at Numali Jalah was constructed as a part of the Assam Cricket Association's infrastructure development project. 

The Assam Premier Club Championship will kick off on November 24. At the same time, the RG Baruah U-16 Inter-District tournament will start on February 2.
