Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Dinkar Gupta and Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Tapan Kumar Deka on Friday in New Delhi. 

The Chief Minister had a discussion about security-related issues with the heads of both Central agencies. The Chief Minister was also briefed by the Director General of the NIA regarding the Rohingya infiltration, regarding which Assam had filed a case with Tripura, and the searches that were conducted in as many as 44 locations throughout the Northeast Region. 

The meeting began and ended more over an hour ago at the Assam House. The Chief Minister was also met by AK Mishra, a former Special Director of the IB and current advisor on North East affairs. 

Later, the Chief Minister informed the media at the Assam House premises that the bill outlawing polygamy will be brought to the Assam Assembly floor, which is scheduled to start on February 4.

The Union Minister for Finance, the Union Minister for Petroleum and natural Gas, the Union Minister for Coal & Mines, the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, the President and Vice President, the Prime Minister, and the Union Home Minister twice were among the people the Chief Minister met with during his five-day visit to the nation's capital.
