It is to be noted that earlier this year in January, an employee of the Indian Institute of Technology—Guwahati reportedly joined ULFA. 

Digital Desk: A couple from Tinsukia district in Assam's Kakopathar reportedly left behind their four-year-old daughter and their ancestral house to join the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I), an illegal organization. 

The couple has been identified as Achyut Neog and his wife Mamata Neog, reports said. According to reports, they left their daughter in the village of Dirak Kapatoli with her grandparents. 

Additionally, reports suggest that the couple is on their way to the ULFA-I bases in Myanmar. Achyut's father, Sanmon Neog, was once a member of ULFA, so this news shocked him even more. At the age of 18, Sanmon Neog became a member of the group; however, in 1993, he made the decision to leave ULFA and reintegrate into society in order to pursue his normal life.

It is to be noted that earlier this year in January, an employee of the Indian Institute of Technology—Guwahati reportedly joined ULFA. Reports claiming that Gautam Gogoi, a junior technician at IIT-Guwahati, joined the ULFA-I brought the incident to light.
