Digital Desk: Acting upon a source input on a covert deal of NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) in Assam’s South Salmara, a team from Special Task Force (STF) launched an operation to foil the deal by arresting the drugs peddlers.
Accordingly, on Sunday morning (Sep 2), the STF team started their journey from Guwahati to Mancachar area of Dist.- South Salmara-Mankachar and apprehended two drug peddlers, namely, 1)Aziz Miya (32 yrs), S/o Lt. Ghulam Mustafa, Vill. Lukai char, PS-Mahendraganj, Dist .-Ampati, Meghalya and 2) Niwar Marak, S/o Ludel sangma Of vill Dingmangpara, PS- Mahendraganj, Dist- Ampati, Meghalaya from Kuchnimara, PS-Mankachar at around 4 pm on Sunday.
Reportedly, these drug peddlers are also involved in snatching money on the pretext of delivering drugs.
The arrested persons have been handed over to the local police of Mankachar Police Station for registering a case to initiate lawful actions against them.
