Digital Desk: Assam records a drop in the number of daily positive cases in the state. According to the state health ministry, Assam recorded 910 positive Covid-19 cases in 24 hours on Sunday. The National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin also stated that around 13,100 tests were done on Sunday. Out of these 13,100 tests done, only 910 cases have tested positive. This number takes the state's overall positivity rate to stand at 6.95%. Moreover, Kamrup Metro also witnessed a significant drop in the number of positive cases. Kamrup (M) has recorded the highest numbers since the onset of the third wave.  On Sunday, Kamrup Metro recorded 357, which is still higher than any other state of Assam. Following Kamrup, Lakhimpur recorded 51 cases, Barpeta 50 and Kamrup (Rural) 40.  On Sunday, the state witnessed 20 more COVID-19 fatalities taking the death toll to 6,442. Cachar, Kamrup Metropolitan, Sonitpur, and Tinsukia districts recorded two casualties. Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Charaideo, Darrang, Goalpara, Golaghat, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup (Rural), Lakhimpur, and Udalguri reported one each. Also Read: IED blast rocks Scotland of the East , Shillong The number of recovered patients released from clinics and Covid Care Centres was 7,230 on Sunday, higher than the 5,497 recoveries the prior day. The total number of cured COVID-19 patients in the state has risen to 6,84,358, with the recovery rate at 95.77 percent.  According to the NHM bulletin, 4,12,85,732 COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed in the state so far. The number of doses provided on Sunday was 41,999, lower than the 79,482 shots administered on the earlier day.
