Guwahati: Assam reported 92 new Coronavirus cases on Tuesday taking the numbers of active caseload to 683. Two deaths were also reported due to the virus in the state.

Among the newly reported covid positive cases, 26 were reported from Kamrup Metro, 12 from Nagaon and 14 from Jorhat. It may be mentioned here that the Sivasagar district has imposed Section 144 CrPC amidst the rising covid cases in the state. Gathering of huge crowd is prohibited in the public areas so to bring in control in the spread of the disease. The administration will also see to the strict covid protocols be maintained by the people failing which the person or group will face heavy penalty for breaking the rules of the covid protocols.

Meanwhile, various states across the country is facing a sudden spike in the number of covid cases with Maharashtra reporting the highest cases in the country.
