Digital Desk: On Wednesday, a conference was held in North Lakhimpur to discuss the smooth conduct of the upcoming Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) elections in the Lakhimpur district. 


In the presence of poll observers, District Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Baruah presided over a meeting with candidates, party leaders, and administration officials in his office in North Lakhimpur. 


The discussion went over the spending limitations for candidates in the DAC elections on November 8, the Election Commission laws and regulations, banners and posters, public gatherings, election campaigns, and so on.


Sanjeev Dolay, Returning Officer and Acting Commissioner of Deuri Autonomous Council, Lakhimpur, Manorama Marang, Officer in Charge of Expenditure Cell Kulbhushan Pegu, and numerous senior officers from the Lakhimpur district government attended the meeting. 


The district administration advised the contesting candidates and their party functionaries to cooperate in the election process at the meeting.


Arup Pathak, DDC-Dhemaji, the State Election Commission's election observer for DAC polls in the Lakhimpur district, arrived in North Lakhimpur on October 26. 


Arup Pathak on that occasion thanked the candidates and party representatives of the DAC polls. The meeting was informed that for the DAC polls, an Election Control Room with the phone number 037522222273 had been designated.


The meeting also confirmed that the election campaign could continue until 4 p.m. on November 6. On November 10, the votes will be counted.
