The continuing direct recruitment drive seeks to fill a total of 26,442 vacancies, including 13,300 for Grade 3 positions and 13,341 for Grade 4 posts-old.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, had announced that exam fees will be refunded to those who did not progress in the direct recruitment procedure.
A total of 26,442 positions were open when the Assam Direct Recruitment Commission announced the Grade 3 and Grade 4 recruitment notifications. Of those positions, 13,300 were for Grade 3 posts-old and 13,341 were for Grade 4 posts-old. Over four lakh hopefuls showed up for the test, according to reports.
