Digital Desk: The Assam Police arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor domestic help.
 
In response to the concerning allegations, Assam's Director General of Police (DGP), GP Singh, took to the microblogging platform X. The DGP acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and confirmed that Case No. 42 has been registered at the Dergaon Police Station in District Golaghat under Sections 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 



The accused, DSP Kiran Nath, who is presently assigned to the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, was taken into custody when strong evidence came to light during the inquiry.

DGP GP Singh stated, "Assam Police Headquarters' policy of zero tolerance towards sexual misconduct among police personnel remains the cornerstone," emphasizing the department's commitment to upholding the highest levels of accountability and integrity.
