Assam Earthquake: Strong tremors felt in and around Kamrup District

Guwahati: Strong tremors were felt in an around Kamrup district today morning at 8:46 am. many areas reported of intense shaking of buildings.

This early morning earthquake revisited the memories of the previous earthquake that took place more than a month ago, causing major damages to buildings and roads.

Reports of tremors also felt in South Salmara at 8:46 am. No reports of damages or casualties reported.

Assam has been witnessing episodic events of minor to mild earthquakes in the last few weeks with the epicentre being at Sonitpur.

Today's earthquake parameters designate the epicentre at Goalpara of magnitude 5.2 on Richter scale. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 14 km at 8:46 am.
