Digital Desk: An elephant in the Greater Morangi area of the Golaghat district of Assam died of electrocution at Letekujan during the celebration of "Uruka."

Initial reports state that for the last six months (roughly), a herd of elephants has been roaming around different areas of the Morangi area.

In the meantime, for the past week, an elephant herd has been stationed in the Letekujan region. One of the herd's elephants died instantly last night after it came into contact with a live electrical wire close to National Highway 39.

It is to be noted that following the event, a group of forest workers rushed to the location and removed the pachyderm's carcass.
