Digital Desk: The Assam government has suspended two Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers for their involvement in large-scale appointment irregularities at Assam Fishery Development Corporation Limited.

Anuradha Adhikari and Naren Chandra Basumatary have been named as the two suspended officials.

At the time of the alleged irregularities, the officers Anuradha Adhikari and Naren Chandra Basumatary were appointed as Managing Directors by the AFDCL.

According to the Assam Government's Personnel Department, Anuradha Adhikari, ACS has engaged in substantial irregularities in regularising personnel and assigning contractual employees in the Assam Fishery Director, AFDCL, according to the state government's High Power Committee. 

Anuradha Adhikari, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Border Protection, and in the Development Department, has already been the aspect of a departmental proceeding under the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules of 1964. Guwahati will remain her headquarters throughout her suspension. Assam's Personnel Department has issued similar letters to Naren Chandra Basumatary.
