On May 25, 2023, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the appointment letters were given to the applicants who had cleared the direct recruitment exam.

Digital Desk: The Assam government will distribute appointment letters to up to 514 candidates on September 3. The Chief Minister's Office informed on Saturday.

The appointment letters will be given to the applicants who met the same cut-off in the Grade III and Grade IV direct recruitment examinations held in 2022 by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

This is a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) pledge to create one lakh employment in state government.

On May 25, 2023, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the appointment letters were given to the applicants who had cleared the direct recruitment exam.

However, a few positions remained unfilled since some of the chosen applicants chose not to accept them. Due to this, the state government decided to fill the open positions using the recruitment commission's merit lists.

34 departments will welcome the chosen individuals once they receive their appointment letters.
