Assam Government to gift Khadi clothes to government employees to mark 150th birth anniversary of Ma

Guwahati: Paying tribute on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Assam Government is planning to gift khadi shirt, endi shawl and endi stole to the grade IV male and female employees of Assam Government.

The announcement was made via tweet from CMO saying, “As part of 150th birth anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi, CM Shri @sarbanandasonowal directed officials from Handloom and Textile Dept in a meeting in Guwahati to provide khadi shirt, endi shawl and endi stole to the Grade IV employees of GoA.

While evaluating the steps taken by the Handloom and Textile department, Sonowal asked minister or handloom and textile Ranjit Dutta to ensure the success of the highly ambitious programme and its implementation. The first phase of Khadi cloth distribution will begin this month.
