Digital Desk: The Assam government will be presenting its budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on February 12 during the Budget Session of the Assam legislative assembly. The administration of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be entering its fourth budget.

ANI cited Ajanta Neog as adding, "This will be my fourth budget. On February 12, I will set the budget on the house's floor. Establishing a sensible budget is my top goal. The expenditure should always be 100% of the budget, which is a crucial consideration."
"In the three years I've been here, we've observed that our expenses can reach as high as 80% at times. We're going to test a new formula this year whereby spending will increase if we set a realistic budget, according to the finance minister of Assam.
"First, we have prepared a realistic budget. Our goal is to create a budget that takes into account all sectors. In addition to trying to offset increased public spending and capital expenditures in the case of infrastructure development, we will also strive to provide benefits to women and young people ," she added.
The budget for the previous year was submitted by the finance minister of Assam, with a total expenditure of roughly Rs 3.21 lakh crore.
According to Ajanta Neog, Assam's GDP estimations are expected to increase from Rs 3.93 lakh crore in 2021–22 to Rs 5.5 lakh crore in 2023–24. The introduction of a program to support microentrepreneurs for the creation of self-employment opportunities among unemployed youngsters from below-the-poverty-line (BPL) families and low-income households was another proposal she made.
Aiming to create chances for self-employment, the program is known as the 'Mukhya Mantri Sva-Niyojan Mission'.
Over the following three years, the project would invest a total of Rs 5,000 crores, with the goal of enabling over two lakh youth without jobs to become job creators.
