Digital Desk: The Assam government is expediting the recruitment process to fill up over one lakh vacancies, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said on Tuesday.

The minister said that teachers with grace marks will be appointed during a news conference.

He declared, "Barriers would be removed even if the court matter is still pending. The decision has been made to hire college teachers and TET graduates.

On September 23, significant appointments will once again be made, and up to 4,717 teachers will get appointment letters.

"As per the court order, 298 selected TET exam candidates will receive appointments, and shortly education department white paper will be published," the minister said.

He added that since 2011, the education department has experienced significant changes and that work is also being done to strengthen the infrastructure.

It may be mentioned that soon, advertisements for teachers' posts-old will be published.
