Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has made a bold declaration regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha election. He confidently stated that the BJP is poised to secure 11.5 seats in the election, leaving the remaining 2.5 seats open to other parties.

"In Assam, 11.5 seats belong to the BJP, and for the remaining 2.5 seats, whoever wishes to share, we don't have to say anything," said Sarma. He dismissed the opposition's call for a "supreme sacrifice" to defeat the saffron party, emphasizing that the people of Assam are focused on development and progress, not personal sacrifices.

Moreover, CM Sarma foresees a competitive race between the AIUDF and Congress for the 2.5 contested seats. He remarked that it is natural for these two parties to engage in political rivalries, but he suggested that they could unite in the future, stating, "Following the Lok Sabha election results, Delhi might say that due to the lack of an alliance between AIUDF and Congress, they lost the election, and in 2026, they may unite once again."

CM Sarma's bold proclamation sets the stage for a contentious Lok Sabha election in Assam, with the BJP aiming to maintain its stronghold in the state.
