The Annual General Meeting of the Assam Hockey Association, chaired by president Tapan Kumar Das, was held on Sunday at the Association's office in Nagaon. The meeting saw discussions on the schedule and arrangements for various hockey competitions to be organized across the state during the upcoming season.
Key decisions taken at the meeting include awarding Hailakandi the hosting rights for the Senior Women’s Inter-District Championship, scheduled to take place in the second week of October. The Karimganj Hockey Association will organize the Under-14 Boys’ Inter-District Championship, with the date yet to be finalized.
The association has also finalized the calendar for several other tournaments. Nagaon will host the Sub-Junior Women’s Inter-District Championship in the first week of July, while Kaliabor will host the Junior Men’s Inter-District Championship in the second week of July. Naharkatia has been selected to host the Junior Women’s tournament later in the season, and Tinsukia will organize the Sub-Junior Boys’ Inter-District Championship in October.
