Guwahati: After the mismanagement at the recently held 'Job Fair,' Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary announced that from now Assam Job Fair would be held online, reports said.

Announcing it, Patowary stated that although the program didn't go well at Guwahati, however, it went well in the other districts.

"The next Assam Job fair will be held online, for it a portal is being developed. It will provide job to the educated unemployed youth of the state." Patowary said.

Further, he added that necessary steps had been taken against the officers related to the job fair's mismanagement in Guwahati.

"It is pathetic to hear that the job fair didn't go well in Guwahati due to the negligence of the government officials. Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked me to look over the issue." he said.

Earlier, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that necessary actions would be taken against those officers responsible for the job fair's mismanagement.

Soon after the mismanagement incident came to notice, on Friday, the state government suspended two senior officials for the mismanagement at the job fair held statewide on December 23.

The suspended officials were Joint Director, Employment T Doungel and Assistant Director of Employment, District Employment Exchange, Guwahati, Lipika Datta.
