Digital Desk: Devotees intending to enter the main sanctuary at Kamakhya Devalaya after 9 p.m. during Ambubachi Mela will now be required to leave, according to Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah.

Addressing the media on June 10, Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah stated that devotees planning to move up to the main sanctum of the Temple will now have to leave before 9 p.m. to avoid crowding.

According to Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, the authorities will seal the route for worshippers ascending uphill after 9 p.m. and reopen it after 5 a.m. the following day.

Notably, the Ambubachi Mela will take place from June 22 to June 26.

It should be noted that the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati's Nilachal hills is one of the oldest and most revered Tantric practice centres dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya.
