Digital Desk: The Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly begins today, February 5, and is slated to continue until February 28. On the first day of the session, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria addressed the assembly.
The state budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 will be presented by Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog on February 12. Strict security measures have been implemented within the state assembly premises ahead of the budget session.
The Assam Polygamy Prohibition Bill is scheduled to be introduced during the current assembly session, announced Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Additionally, during the budget session, several new and amendment bills will be introduced, including the Assam Tourism (Development and Registration) Bill, 2024.
