Digital Desk: The Assam Legislative Assembly's budget session will commence on Friday (March 10) in Dispur in Guwahati. The budget session is set to go through April 5.

According to information, the Assam Legislative Assembly's budget session will have 14 sittings between today and April 5.

According to reports, the Assam Legislative Assembly's budget session would begin with an address by newly appointed Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. Today, the Governor will address the members of the House. 

According to reports, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog would propose the budget on March 15. Furthermore, during this session of the Assam Legislative Assembly, various new and revised measures are scheduled to be introduced.

It should be mentioned that, in preparation for the budget session, an all-party meeting began on Thursday.

The opposition is expected to try to corner the government on matters such as eviction and action on child marriage, among others. Security has also been ramped up in and around Dispur, where the Assam secretariat is located, ahead of the budget session. 

It should be noted that the all-party conference was conducted at the Central Hall of the Legislative Assembly before the Assam budget session, and was presided over by Biswajit Daimary, the speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

All MLAs from the government and opposition parties were present at the meeting. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister, also attended the all-party meeting.

"Ahead of the Assembly Budget Session starting tomorrow, took part in a meeting convened by Hon Speaker Shri @BiswajitDaimar5 with leaders of all political parties at Central Hall of the Legislature," CM Sarma posted on Twitter. 

"Sought everyone's support for a smooth Budget Session," he added.

Previously, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog stated that the state's budget for the current fiscal year will be reasonable. Commenting on the impending Assam budget session, Ajanta Neog stated, "I am offering my word, this year's budget will be realistic, and capital expenditure would increase."
