Digital Desk: A middle-aged man from the Beltola area of Guwahati, Assam was found dead in a hotel room here on Thursday morning, police stated.

According to reports, the deceased man has been identified as Sijo Joseph (47), found dead at Hotel Assembly in the Police Bazaar area.

“Following information from the staff of the hotel that an occupant of a room hadn’t come out for more than a day, police broke open the door and found Joseph’s lifeless body lying on the bed,” East Khasi Hills district SP Rituraj Ravi said.
 
According to the SP, there are no indications of foul play and it appears to be a case of sedative and antidepressant overdose leading to death. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem. The family is being contacted and that additional investigation is being done, he added.
