A preliminary investigation revealed that the man took the extreme step following a family conflict.
Digital Desk: A man allegedly made his two minor kids drink poison before consuming it himself at their residence in the the Sivasagar district of Assam.
The incident took place in the Bogidole area of the district.
The man, identified as Mridul Handique, and his sons were taken to the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh after the incident.
However, the father and his 8-year-old son were declared dead when they arrived. His other son, age 10, is currently being treated and is in critical condition.
The man's wife and daughters were reportedly not present at the residence when the incident occurred.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man took the extreme step following a family conflict.
It may be mentioned that legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
