According to officials, the boat carrying them got lost on the way back on Saturday night and spent the night at another "sapori" in the middle of the river.

Digital Desk: In Assam's Dibrugarh, an 11-member medical team was rescued from a Brahmaputra sandbar.

The crew was safely transported back to Dibrugarh by members of the NDRF and SDRF.

Around five days prior, a group of medical professionals including doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and other staff members had departed for the 'Charkholia Sapori' (sandbar) to treat about 1,000 people.

According to officials, the boat carrying them got lost on the way back on Saturday night and spent the night at another "sapori" in the middle of the river.

"They got in touch with the district administration last night." Rescue teams were sent out on Sunday, and they have already safely returned, a member of law enforcement said.

All of the members of the medical team are in good health, officials stated.
