Goroimari: Sensation spread across Dakshin Kamrup's Goroimari area, after locals found a dead new born baby inside a plastic bag, dumped near Kalatali Bridge. The dead baby was found wrapped inside a plastic bag early Wednesday morning and was first sighted by the locals.
Locals reported of foul smell coming from the plastic bag. Soon they reported about the plastic bag to the police. A police team from Jurshimuli Police Station arrived at the spot and opened the plastic bag, and saw the horrific sight.

People suspect, the male baby might have been illegally aborted and then left on the bridge by the mother.
The police team led by OC Nabajit Deka recovered the dead baby and took him to the police station. After filing a report on the same and recording the statements of the locals, the dead baby has been sent to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the police have begun investigation on the same and are on the lookout for the baby’s parents.
