Digital Desk: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is scheduled to arrive in Assam today (December 16) to investigate a spate of grenade blasts that have rattled the state in recent weeks.

The NIA's involvement follows a request from state authorities seeking assistance in examining multiple grenade attacks across Tinsukia, Sivasagar, and Jorhat districts. The banned insurgent outfit, ULFA-I, has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which unfolded between November 22 and December 13.

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, held talks with NIA Director General Dinkar Gupta in New Delhi on December 15. Assam's Director General of Police, GP Singh, has affirmed that those accountable for the blasts will be brought to justice.
