The first operation was carried out at the Nakshari Machkhowa Mistry village of Mariani, Jorhat district on Friday night by the Jorhat Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Mariani Circle Police Officer.

Digital Desk: In a major crackdown against illegal activities across the state, Assam Police arrested two individuals and seized a large quantity of narcotics, including YABA tablets, ganja, and banned intoxicants from two separate operations.

The first operation was carried out at the Nakshari Machkhowa Mistry village of Mariani, Jorhat district on Friday night by the Jorhat Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Mariani Circle Police Officer. A drug peddler identified as Hanif Ali was arrested during the operation. Around 34 grams of drugs, 197 banned intoxicants, and 221 grams of ganja were seized from Hanif's residence. Hanif was in the custody of Mariani Police.

In another operation, Sribhumi police seized 7,600 YABA tablets. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the significant efforts carried out by the Assam Police to prevent illegal activities in the state.
