Digital Desk: In the latest development towards removing illegal movements, Basistha Police has arrested one associated with drug peddling from Guwahati. As per police sources, the one arrested has been identified as Dhanmoni Mahanta. Mahanta was arrested on Monday by an EGPD team from Basistha Police Station. Police seized 4gms of heroin from the possession of the drug peddler Mahanta. Moreover, a mobile phone and some cash have been seized by the police authorities. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has already ordered police authorities of the state to be very uncompromising towards all unlawful activities. Lately, a Central Guwahati Police District unit from Paltan Bazar Police Station apprehended a drug peddler from the KFC Bata path.  Police seized five grams of Brown sugar, 18 empty vials, a mobile phone, and a syringe. On the other hand, another team of the Central Guwahati Police District from Chandmari Police Station arrested an individual from Gandhibasti last December.  The war against illegal drug peddling and usage is on track. Police are setting hawk eyes upon everyone who is associated with illegal means.
