Digital Desk: The Assam Police arrested a poacher and recovered a rhino horn in Sonitpur district's Jamugurihat area, reports emerged.
The poacher was apprehended on Thursday night during search operations carried out in Jamugurihat's Bharali Chapori area by the Jamuguri Police, Forest Department personnel, and village guardians.
The arrested poacher has been identified as Hanif Ali.
Two of Hanif's associates reportedly left the area as soon as they received information security forces were there.
According to reports, search operations are in progress to find the absconding poachers.
