A major operation was conducted by the police in Assam's Jorhat district, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals, including eight women, for their alleged involvement in a suspected sex racket. The raid, which took place at a hotel in Jorhat town, was carried out based on specific information that a sex racket had been operating in the area for some time.
According to officials, the arrests were made on Monday, and the police are currently investigating the matter further to dismantle the entire network. The manager of the hotel and five of its staff were also taken in for questioning in connection with the case.
Reports suggest that the main person behind the suspected sex racket is absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. The police are working to gather more information and bring the culprits to justice.
