Guwahati: Assam Police seized a huge batch of drugs from Jorabat. Additionally, the Police arrested two persons in connection with the drug peddling case.
As per the Police, the seized 600 gms heroin is worth over Rs 4.5 crores in the International market.
Appreciating the Police for the successful operation, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on Twitter, “#AssamAgainstDrugs Kudos @assampolice as you continue to tighten the noose around drugs mafia. This morning, Police intercepted an interstate consignment of drugs at Jorabat and seized 660 gms Heroin worth over Rs 4.5 cr in international market & arrest 2 so far. Good.”
Earlier, to make Assam drugs free, the Assam CM burnt seized drugs worth Rs 170 crore in four districts.
