Nagaon: Assam government has banned the sale of beef or beef products in any form except at places permitted by the government. In such a situation, the Nagaon police team headed by Nagaon Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tridip Kumbang seized a large number of cow bones and buffalo horns from a godown.

Nagaon police started a raid after receiving secret information regarding cow bones and buffalo horns smuggling. As per the information, police raided a godown in Sialmari, Nagaon, on Sunday night.

As per police information, they could seize a huge quantity of cow bones and buffalo horns in the godown. Moreover, they could seize a truck full of 10 tons of bones and horns.

Police arrested the owner of the godown, Hajif Zafar, including two drivers of the truck Adil and Tanzim. The godown owner, Zafar, said police that these bones and horns are used for making fertilizers in Uttar Pradesh.

Previously, Assam Police seized at least 20 cattle in two different operations from markets along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Moreover, Assam police has raided several cow smuggling cases in the past few months.
