Digital Desk: In the Jorhat district of Assam, a group of drunk youths reportedly assaulted a pregnant woman and her family members.
The incident reportedly took place on March 8 amid Holi celebrations at Bongal Pukhuri in Jorhat.
According to reports, the victims found the culprits at their gate as they were returning home after enjoying Holi outside.
However, the incident that was captured on camera showed the pregnant mother being dragged by her hair by teenagers, while the other family members were attacked.
Following the event, the woman's husband filed a complaint at Jorhat's Lichubari Police Station.
Notably, four persons including a woman were arrested in connection to the assault on a pregnant woman and her family members on Holi night.
The detained persons were identified as Angshuman Dutta, Babu Phukan, and Sunny Phukan. The identity of the woman involved in the case has not been released yet.
It is to be noted that further investigation into the matter is underway.
