Guwahati: Continuing with its saga of spiraling covid cases in the country as well as in Assam, the state registered a record of 583 covid cases in the last 24 hours with 193 cases in Kamrup alone. The total covid cases in the state of Assam has now touched 2,20,893.

Though vaccination drive is still underway, covid cases continue to rise in the state, with many district administrations clamping Section 144 in various districts.

Meanwhile, no deaths due to covid were reported in the last 24 hours. The total case fatality of the state stood at 1,118
