Guwahati: Assam Director General Of Police (DGP),Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Saturday addressed a press meet and urged the public of the state to be extra cautious during the puja celebrations.

DGP of Assam, Mahanta addressed a presser and said, “In Durga puja, the State might be at risk as informed by our intelligence. So I am requesting the people and the puja committees to stay alert and extra cautious."

The law enforcement agency has been ordered to increase anti-terror measures to fight off any Infelicitous situation.

There will be a regular and strict patrolling from 5 pm till midnight. The patrolling will be carried out in busy, crowded areas in Assam, said officials.

Mahanta also urged the shopkeepers to be vigilant during the rush hours of the day
